Lighted Light

Are you in a situation that you just need to hear God? I mean you wish He’d just speak directly to your ears. This could be concerning a pressing need, but the more you keep on keeping on, it seems no clearance and you are almost been pushed to going through “other” means to actualize this.

“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness.” Matt6:22-23

That scripture above is full of mysteries which in a very simple way will be broken down for you to feed on this week. The eye represents the light of the body. The eye here is a symbol of your heart. The heart is open and receptive, it is inside of it activities go on. This is why the scriptures says “Keep your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life” Prov 4vs23.

“If thine eye be single”… singleness signifies one. It is a representation of concentration, uprightness and sync towards a course. The heart can only be single when it doesn’t look on to any other source for help. It is concentrated, all it hopes for comes from just one source.

It is when the eye is single the whole body will be full of light. There is another light eye, this is not as that of the eye used symbolically to mean the heart. Here it signifies PEACE and REVELATION. When you don’t look to any other source for help and deliverance except in JESUS, you will be filled with peace and revelation. This is the significance of that scripture: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you…John14v27.

The scripture goes further to say “if thine eye be evil, thy whole body will be full of darkness”. Evil is commonly used to refer only to the activities of the dark world. Evil here if placed side by side with the first expression- if your eye be single- could also mean “double”. In essence, evil means when your heart is not totally dependent on God. When directly or indirectly you place your belief in any other thing beyond Him, it is evil. This could manifest in different forms. If this happens, the whole body (Life) will be filled with darkness. Darkness here also doesn’t represent demons, it signifies confusion and uncertainty. This was the case with Adam and Eve. They believed the testimony of the serpent. And darkness set in. they became confused, and were not certain of appearing before God.

The road to having peace and revelation that you seek in your business, relationships, academics, ministry and life in general is in that formula. Let your eye (Heart) be single. Don’t allow all of those worries and needs be at the hub of your heart, they block the light and give birth to confusion and uncertainty (Darkness).

Hope you got it now? Be so engrossed with pleasing Him i.e. totally believe in Him, you will experience peace. He’d take care of all those needs. Why would you use your light to get darkness? Use your light (Heart) to get Light (Revelation and Peace).
