THE STIRRING

It is amazing witnessing another month in the midst of the global crisis. And, together we would see the end of it.

As I was praying in the course of the week, the story of a certain man in the scriptures came to me whom I had written about a number of times, but then, I saw it in a different way.

Just as every other visionary person out there, I started the year with high hopes receiving words of prophecies and having expectations. For some of us, they were received words of prophecies into our spirit and for some others they were words given by men of God over our lives. So, there were expectations for the year and in fact, for those who are good at setting goals, these expectations were written down.

All of these sounded really amazing to your spirit until the third month of the year when a pandemic that had hit the world since December 2019 became serious and all of the means known to you to seeing the promises fulfilled is collapsing before your very eyes. I can imagine when you received a sure word of prophecy that the job you have been waiting for will be delivered this year and it’d be a massive one. And now a large number of persons already lost their jobs due to the effect of the pandemic and there have been projection on millions of jobs to be lost globally. Then the big questions of when would the world see the end of this comes to mind not to talk of the long awaited promised job.

“There was in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whosever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years” John 5:2-5

The man had been by the pool of Bethesda for thirty-eight years. He must have told those who brought him to the pool that he needed to get healed. Perhaps he heard about the news of people getting healed when they get access to the pool after an Angel must have stirred the water. I guess he may not have had the full information that this healing only applies to whoever entered the pool first. Anyway, he left his house hopeful of a healing having heard concrete testimonies.

Eventually, he got to the pool with so much hope only to see that he could not make it. He had no way he could get into the pool before others who were also expecting, like him, but had their legs intact as his conversation with Jesus suggested strongly that he could not walk. His hope was shattered and he concluded within himself that he could never get healed. He however stayed there. The only way he knew his healing would come was already destroyed, the Angel had to stir and he needed to be there before anyone else.

“When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well? The sick man answered Him, ‘Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming another steps down there before me” vs6

This is same way at the instance of receiving a word of prophecy; you already created a wall of stirring around its fulfillment i.e. the means by which it would be fulfilled. The current situation of the pandemic has broken the ability of many of us to get to the pool before any other person, at the stirring of the Angel. So you have concluded somewhere at the corner of your heart that you cannot get healed (see the breakthrough) though you have not left God but have left the hope, the promises and the prophecies. Just as this man stayed by the pool for 38 years as a candidate for miracle though he had concluded he will never get healed.

All because travels are no longer possible, schools are shut, economy is collapsing and the whole world is in a state of fear and it seem the world is on a pause, you have also unconsciously shut the doors of believing for the promises.

“Jesus said to him, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’. And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.” Vs8-9

So, Jesus came to pass a message across that it is true that the protocol to getting the promise was by that action of the angel stirring the water and whoever gets in first receives the miracle, however, the limitation of man is no hindrance for God in delivering the supernatural and that is why it is supernatural. Prophecies in the first place are not natural, they don’t plead to materialize.

You don’t have to fixate the fulfillment of the promise to the confines of your imagination. God’s promises are not bound by the events of life; the events of life are bound by God’s promises. The events obey His words and the global pandemic is not left out. It’d only work to fulfilling the prophecies.

Can you please let go of the thoughts of the impossibilities of being able to get to the stirring water because of all that has changed in our world now?  Yes! You don’t need the stirring water to see the prophecies come true. All you need is the Word! So, the hopes, the promises, the energy and the vision you bore at the beginning of the year by the Lord don’t need any natural event to make them happen. They happen by His Word.

“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the LORD, who has compassion on you: Isaiah 54:10

This year is still that year the Lord has made! Don’t throw away your shield of faith. You don’t need the stirring of the pool to get healed. The river is now in you!
