THE CONFLICT

I wrote to you last week on how powerful a believer’s prayer could be. It is so powerful that God is honoured when the prayer of the saint is answered. If you missed this last week, please read here as today’s message is a progression from what I shared with us last week.

Having established from the scripture that the believer’s prayer is always answered, there is a need to explain what could cause lack of results in the place of prayers as there seem to be a variation in some people’s reality and the truth of the scripture shared here. Let me help you see what could be the missing link.

Remember I shared with you that the premise on which prayer is built is same as what is regarded as the will of God and that is exactly what makes a prayer answered without anything being able to hold it back. Praying the will of God is praying believing in the son of God. And when you pray the will of God, no devil can stop it. This means there is a correlation between your salvation and how prayer works.

The scripture is replete on principles and the same principle that establishes a thing is what is usually used in its sustenance. Salvation is spiritual; hence, every other component of salvation such as prayer is also sustained through same principle that gave birth to salvation.

A man is not just saved by the belief in his heart only, but, with a mix of confession. And it is on this principle salvation is established. Every other thing that will profit you in the kingdom also takes off from this.

“For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved” Rom 10:10

This is a very powerful principle that can turn your life around in receiving answers from God in the place of prayer. There is the concept of believing. A believer has to believe what God has done and it from this that life rises up in the believer. The place of believing is the starting point of what is to come. However, it is not the climax of the turnaround that is expected to be birthed in the life of a believer. You’d discover James opened our minds to the fact that even demons believe in God, this then makes it clearer that there is more to believing when we talk about His transformation.

“You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.” James 2:19

Having seen that, you’d also see that the scripture also explains to us the connection between the heart and our speech. The speech of a man is directly connected to what is in the heart of the man. And it is at that point there is a proof of what a man truly stands for and transformation takes place.

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” Luke 6:45

Let’s go back to Romans 10:10… So, you see that salvation only happens at the point there is a confession of what is believed in the heart. There must be a correlation of the two for there to be a working out of the works of salvation.

This same principle works for prayers!

There has to be a believing and a confession that aligns. And more than often, the confession comes outside of your room of prayers. Pouring out your heart to God in your prayer room is amazing, however, prayer does not stop at that point but when you can trust God enough in the face of your day-to-day conversation, confessing what you believed in the place of your prayers.

On many occasion you do not receive in prayers because in the true spiritual sense there hasn’t been any prayer said. When the desires of your heart are in contrast with what you profess in your day-to-day conversation it will produce no result.  You may not receive if your confession is inconsistent with what you have prayed for.

“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord” James 1:6-7

Your inconsistency does not stop God from answering your prayers, it stops you from receiving. What you say after prayers is as important as what you say during the prayers because God hears you always.

Are you praying for a job and when asked about the job you confess there is no job in the country? Are you looking for a marital partner and your confession is that there are no good men/women out there? The conflict is the issue, not the God who gives. Your believing must match your confession to produce result.

Can you try it this week? Put your heart at what you believe God for. When the seas begin to roar around you like Peter found himself, don’t change your confession; let your words be that which you spoke to God in secret. The confession is your confidence of God in His power to work it out; you transfer the responsibility of working it out to Him that way, it’s amazing.

Have a testimony filled week.
