There is a conflict
that exist between our intellect and the personality of faith. The effort of
man to understand God with the head has always landed in serious misinterpretations
of spiritual complexities. The things of the spirit cannot be understood perfectly
by intellectual elucidation. Intellect is a product of the mind and the head
making a conclusion from obvious fact set before it. However, faith is a
product of the spirit operational upon the living word available to it. I want
to share with you on how we got to the place of feeling inadequate before God
and what is needed to live a confident life as a Christian.
God created the heaven
and the earth. He placed man on the earth to oversee its activities. The Garden
of Eden was symbolic to the life of the man. The Garden is an earthly-heaven
but still with a content that is inadequate which is not to be explored- The
tree at the Centre of the garden. The man is not an angel, he was made only in
the image nation (imagination) of God but had some limitations. His making was
from an earthly substance, the dust, which defines his inadequacy. So, God
designed the man to see from that image of Himself which he breathed inside of
man. If man is exactly God, man would have been able to travel through heavenly
and earthly realms. The earthly container (body) wasn’t perfect. The design was
for man to only see, think and act from the content (Spirit).
When the subtle man
came into the picture, he only needed to change the equation. Lucifer knew what
happened to him in the heavenlies that cost him his highly exalted position. He
lost it through his image nation which wasn’t in conformity to that of God. He was
beginning to imagine himself as being the Lord. So, he played the man who now
enjoys the dominion he used to enjoy to deceit. He was able to talk the woman
to doing what God had told them not to do.
The scriptures records
that immediately they ate the fruit they have been told by God not to eat, they
knew they were naked; not that they became naked from eating it. And God asked
them: “who told you that you were naked?” This means they have always been naked
but never imagined it. They gave power to their container by believing the
words of the serpent as against God’s command. So, there was the battle between
the container (flesh) and the content (spirit). The container that they had
never seen from began to look for every means to gain expression. Intellect became
replaced with their faith. They traded their faith to a nation where there was
much concern for who am I. they began to sow fig leaves to cover the nakedness
that had always been there but covered by the image of God. The real issue here
is that their image nation changed.
God knew they have
always been naked. All that He needed from them was just a continued sight from
His breadth inside of them and having nothing to do with the container that
only existed so they could operate on the earth for their primary assignment.
Now, Jesus came to
restore the order. God knew fully well there is nothing man could do to stop
seeing his nakedness (inadequacies). As long as man keeps seeing the nakedness
(inadequacies) there can’t be a smooth fellowship between him and God. By extension,
the devil already won because his plan was to make man see his nakedness.
Jesus gave Himself as
an image to be seen at the expense of man’s nakedness (inadequacies). This was
the symbolic event that took place at the exchange of Barabbas, the hardened
criminal, for Jesus.
Yes, you feel naked (have
inadequacies) but seeing through Jesus the content renders your inadequacies
less powerful over you. That’s the new order. Jesus declares you not guilty but
you must change your image nation back to the way He intended it to be in the Garden
of Eden. Begin to see yourself as righteousness of God that He calls you. Walk everyday
confidently naming all that is around you exactly the way you want them to be
called. It’s not because you are not naked (Inadequate) but because Jesus’
image is now what God’s see in you. Why would you then concentrate on your nakedness
(inadequacies)?
Friend, this is the
mystery of the word. Stop understanding Jesus through your intellect. Concentrate
henceforth on Jesus’ covering of you and you’d see yourself live a peaceful and
balanced life.
