DISPUTE

I was in a meeting over the weekend where a scripture was exposed. I decided to share that this week and I discovered there is a dimension the Lord wants it to take. The Lord desires to be seen in your life but something stops Him because you can’t hear Him- Dispute

“And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, what was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way? Mark 9vs34

Jesus left Galilee with His disciples for Capernaum. Just on the road His disciples started an argument which soon resulted into what Amplified Version and some other translations of the bible described as dispute. Now my focus isn’t about the cause of their dispute but the event that took place on the road and the reaction of Jesus to this.

From Galilee down to Capernaum Jesus didn’t make any comment, He was on the road with them but kept mute even as they argued amidst each other. They were so engrossed in the argument that they forgot Jesus was on the road with them. Jesus didn’t even desire to be noticed, not to talk of being noticed for the wrong reason but this great guys succeeded in exposing their master. While they disputed, some people must have spotted them and recognized them as Jesus’ disciples and most likely observed Jesus in their midst. On the road to Capernaum Jesus didn’t speak.

Dispute according to Encarta dictionary is when you question or doubt the truth. Dispute does not necessarily occur between two persons as in the case of the disciples. It could also mean to strive against or to resist something. Dispute stems from the mind, it’s a cloudy state. You see, the disciples were only disputing about what really wasn’t important, they had the Truth in the midst of them but couldn’t make way for Him to be heard. They were so overwhelmed with the doubts in their heart- who will be the greatest? Now, the whole of their dispute was about the kingdom. I observed here that as a result of the reason behind their dispute they couldn’t even ask the master what exactly is the answer. It had blocked their capacity to ask, because the cause of the dispute isn’t of God’s nature.

What are the dispute that have caused Him not to talk on your way to destiny? It could be unbelief, fear, worry or anxiety. Why do you doubt His ability to answer to your case? He wants to speak to you on the way but He won’t where there is dispute. It doesn’t announce Him as He is. People won’t see the result of someone who has Jesus on the road with him in your life all because the disputes in you wouldn’t allow Him speak. Until the disciples got to sit down, then He addressed them. Do you know the most interesting thing? He didn’t address the cause of the dispute directly. He didn’t say this is who will be greatest but He told them that to even make it into the kingdom, you have to be as a child. What does this mean? Those things that represent dispute in your life doesn’t really matter, they are not the real thing, and they are only there to shift you from letting Him speak. Seriously, they don’t matter! They want you to lose the faith. Disputes end up making you shed tears, and you discover you are not really asking God for anything but laying claims of what you think should be your condition. All of the dispute are not real, they are not the nature of the kingdom.

Jesus is on this road to destiny with you, He is ready to talk, but the disputes on the road deter Him. Can you let go of the unbelief, fears, worry, pains, anxiety and whatever represent dispute in you? Just enjoy Him on the road. Rest on His word!
