COMMENSURATE EVENT

I remember at the beginning of the year I shared with you how it is necessary that each and every one of us receive God’s word for ourselves besides what our pastors may be leading us to look at. We declared so strongly at the beginning of the year all of what we received and we were sure this year is just going to deliver.

Now, I want to bring to your notice the implication of all the declaration you made in relation to what may be going on with you now. I heard words as “my year of breakthrough, new heights, greater glory” etc. You must understand that there is a commensurate situation that comes with each of what you prayed for. It is just as receiving words from the Lord that “Do not be afraid”. You should be able to understand that there is a commensurate event that will come along with that word- this means situations that will scare you to death will come up, however, His word has gone ahead.

This commensurate event(s) is what I call the night time- a period it seems what you have received is a complete lie, unknowingly to you, they are the proofs of prophecy, if only you can take a closer look.

Joseph started to receive God’s promises through dreams and these were exciting dreams. The central point of all that God was showing him was that He was going to make him a head amongst his brethren. This is just as receiving words from God and confessing it that it is your year of new levels. Yes! Definitely it was a plan of new level for Joseph, but there cannot be entering the new without having to do away with some old things (which may include what matters the most to you). So, when you are declaring new levels, you should also have prepared your mind that there is going to be some hurt of letting go of some old systems. Joseph didn’t find it interesting when he had to be sold to slavery in Potiphar’s house, and ended up in the prison. Those were the commensurate event that came with that word for Joseph. So, for every great transformation there is always a night. He had his night time a- time it looks as if the prophecy was a lie- but he didn’t run away from the darkness because he was looking forward to the great light he had seen.

David was a young faithful man who was very diligent in his father’s business. He was in the wilderness tending his father’s flock, but then, the Lord looked unto him to make him a king over His people, Israel. The prophet came to anoint David in this regard. At that moment, there were two kings in Israel; the crowned king and the anointed king. David didn’t just get to begin to manifest in the breakthrough the Lord was giving him. It didn’t just happen because it had been prophesied. He spent so many years running from the throne he was meant to sit on as the crowned king haunted for his life; he had his share of night time- a time it looks as if the prophecy was a lie- however he also didn’t run away from the darkness as he never let go of the great light.

The Man who is at the centre of our faith, Jesus, had all of the power of the Godhead but chose to come in the flesh to dwell among men. The prophecy about His coming had been declared over 400 years before He came. The prophets had explained how His life was going to look like. That there was a strong prophecy of a Saviour upon Jesus did not mean He just transited into that height automatically because He is the Lord. There is a commensurate event that comes with becoming a savior. Saviour means saving, and you can’t save without having to contend with what has in its custody what you are saving. You can’t desire to be a champion without fighting a battle. He had His night time which was one of the most difficult one. At that moment He wished the night could be turned over but that was the kingdom system and He understood better. Jesus didn’t run away from the darkness as He is the great light Himself. He stood and we enjoy the dividend of that today.

You went about declaring to the devil that it is your year of breakthrough; there can never be any breaking through with a breaking. You don’t break a thing without contacts. So, for you to go through, there would be some breaking and this is not always interesting. Depression overcomes a Christian when the commensurate event of the prophecy being declared is not taken to heart due to the excitement of the word received.

There is always a night time for every transition. This does not make the prophecy invalid; rather, it is a confirmation of what you received from the Lord.

I am writing to you this week to encourage you to keep your light (hope) intact. The night time is just a period; the morning will deliver the prophecy to you. Don’t be like Saul who could not wait and the prophecy over his life never came to full manifestation.

You asked for light, so, expect the darkness so as to prove the light is with you.

“She perceives that her merchandise is good, and her lamp DOES NOT GO OUT AT NIGHT” Prov 31:18

Don’t let the night time take away what you have received. Stay still in the midst of the confusion and uncertainty. He will come through for you.

I hope you get this!
