WAIT FOR SAMUEL!

A word flipped through my heart as I was praying within the week. It was something so profound that I knew was important for the phase I am in. On hearing this word which was an instruction, your thought came to my heart and I decided I was going to share with you. I am absolutely sure you need this too, most especially at this period of the year when there is a whole lot of rush out there.

I know you have a lot of desires and requests you had tabled before God, from the beginning of the year and up until now. Some are critical decisions that you are hoping wouldn’t spill into the next year but it seems it's all not coming so fast as you desire. Let me quickly share with you the instruction that came to my heart and this would answer to all those expectations that are fast becoming a burden to your heart.

Saul had been anointed king of Israel. He was fast becoming a force to reckon with. He had proven to the people that truly he was appointed by God claiming some early victories defeating the enemies of Israel. An event so significant, which is my focus, happened when he was two years on the throne. He was with his men at Mount Bethel and his son Jonathan went ahead to destroy the philistines Garrison and this led to a call to war.

Saul called on his men to be ready to face the Philistines and the Philistines knowing so well what the God of Israel could do recruited more men. They devised this strategy to instil fear.

“The Philistines recruited a mighty army of three thousand chariots, six thousand horsemen, and so many soldiers that they were as thick as sand along the seashore; and they camped at Michmash east of Beth-aven.” 1Sam 13:5

When the men of Israel saw the vast enemy troop, they lost their composure. It wasn't looking like it was going to be fun as usual. They began to hide while some escaped to the land of Gad and Gilead. It then began to look like Saul was left all alone. Before this time, Prophet Samuel had sent a word that he was going to come around and Saul was to wait for seven days to make some sacrificial rites to God. However, things weren’t turning out in favour of Saul. The people wanted him to do something. He was beginning to look like a weak king. He needed to save his face to make the people know he could be the king he had been anointed for. But!...there was instruction; “wait for me for seven days”.

In the midst of the pressure, Saul could no longer stand. Just like the voices of our friends and family members expecting that we do something concerning "the" situations we find ourselves. Everybody is waiting for what you would do. You know what you could do but there is an instruction on what you should do. However, the pressure is increasing. This was the condition of Saul. And eventually, he had to choose an option. He went ahead to perform the sacrificial rites against the instruction form the Prophet, he couldn't wait for Samuel; he had to save his face due to the pressure.

“But just as he was finishing, Samuel arrived. Saul went out to meet him and to receive his blessing,” V10

This is the gist my friend; we all go through that phase in our lives. The moment there are decisions that ordinarily, if not for Jesus, you know what you could do but you are waiting on Him. The pressure however is hitting home and it’s like you can no longer hold it. However,  Samuel can be trusted. His ministry received the revelation of Saul as a king and all that he said concerning Saul came exactly as he prophesied.

Just when Saul decided to compromise, Samuel showed up.

Please, my friend,  WAIT FOR SAMUEL!

Your Samuel is God’s word to you. He can be trusted. Don’t move on without clear instruction from Him. Don’t sign that contract without being sure He wants you to. Don’t relocate because things are hard if He had told you He’d prosper you here. Don’t look for another way out. The road to life is narrow. Wait for Samuel.

He is never too late. And when the pain is at its peak, the package is at the door.

Wait! Samuel (His Word) can be trusted.

Hope this instructs you.

Have a week filled with strength.
