FORSAKEN

Dear friend, I am sure you are surprised to hear from me since the last time I dropped a post in the year 2020. And, welcome if you are a first time reader. My goal is to share with you weekly dose towards Innovating your mind for a victorious Christian life.

I have been very busy with so many other things and you can be sure at the centre of it is the Lord’s work. I have been doing great and experienced victory on many sides. However, I still have questions in some areas. I wish I could sit Jesus down and have one-on-one discussion (I just laughed too).

I am sure you feel that way too about some areas of your life. And, that is why my first message to you is centered around this.

I will be checking on you with my messages every week again. I am hoping my schedule won’t be too busy not to give you the “Dose” you need for a victorious week as we have always done before.

So, how have you been and your personal Christian journey? You can let me know via my mail or in the comment section.

A lot has been happening, particularly in my dear country, Nigeria. I want to speak to you about a season that is termed “Forsaken”.

I discovered that one's life is to be patterned along that of Christ once one has come to accept Him as Lord and Saviour. And the way to check for the happenings in one's life is to look at the life of Jesus while He was here on earth. He is not just the express image of the Father, He is our example.

So, it is safe to use His life as a template of how one  can navigate the tide of this earthly realm.

Jesus got to a point in His earthly journey that He had to come to terms with the fact that it felt like God had left Him. The pain was much even though the purpose was understood.

“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Matt 27:46

In this season of Jesus’s life, He began to experience what felt like God not being a part of His life. He felt forsaken. A Greek concordance dictionary describes forsaken as being left in a condition of lack (" without"); hence, to feel helpless, like left in dire circumstances.

This is a terrible state for someone who everyone had looked forward to in performing miracles and bringing solutions. Jesus felt helpless, lacking and in a dire circumstance that can only be traced to the absence or silence of God.

Friend, all I am trying to tell you is that, you are not in the worst state but the birthing state. Jesus went through it. You will, too. And, it is this season that births the anchor of faith for your life as a testament. I mean, this is what brings proof of your existence in the scheme of things in God!

“A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.” John 16:21

There wouldn’t have been any testament to the saving grace of Jesus without the birthing of that moment He felt “FORSAKEN”. God let go of Jesus’ hands so he could hold His life.

He is doing the same for you. Trust me, keep the faith.

He will hold your life. He can be trusted.

Have a “not-forsaken” week, friend.

Stay Innovated,

Olufemi Ibitoye
