MINISTRY;Beyond The Five Fold

Haven done a concrete exposition of the concept of anointing which the focal point of the exposé is to let you know that anointing is not a prerogative of those who belong to the fivefold ministry- the pastors, apostles, teachers, prophets and evangelist. This indirectly means every other person has access to the anointing- it is the Spirit of God. Now, you cannot have an anointing without a ministry. Anointing enables for an assignment. The assignment is where ministry is drawn from.
I have talked with some people and I get that perspective of limitation in the practice of the power of God, because they just conclude they don’t have a ministry. Pastors, prophets etc. are the ones who should possess such power. From our last series on anointing misconceived I am quite sure you now know that isn’t true.



Do you have a ministry? Perhaps there have been a misconception of the concept “ministry”. The world is facing much trouble today and threat to the survival of mankind because of the way the church has misinterpreted this sacred concept over the time. Those who don’t belong to the fivefold ministry do not see themselves as consecrated in the delivery of their assignment, but as businessmen and technocrats who should apply “diplomacy”. The failure of those outside of the fivefold ministry has led to a collapse in the chain of command in the church as a whole. Those in the fivefold ministry go through rigour because they suffer for the failures of those outside the fivefold. Peradventure you need to understand this concept well.

The word ministry is used both in the Old Testament and New Testament. In the Hebrew language, ministry is interpreted “Sharath” which is defined to minister or serve, take care, assist or attend to. In the Greek language, it is interpreted “Diakonos” which is defined as a waiter, servant, then of any who performs any service, an administrator. From this two description of the root meaning of the word ministry in both Hebrew and Greek one thing is central; it is adding value to the life of others. The implication of this is that the anointing gives the enablement to dish out value and this brings about ministry.

“Now God gives us many kinds of special abilities, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all”1Cor12v4

The scriptures makes us to know ability is released by the Holy Ghost and as long as you come to Christ you receive His Spirit and by this there is an ability in you. As long as you are adding value to lives, you have a ministry. But, there is a problem today because you have not come to understand that, even the work you do, there is a ministry attached to it. Immediately you came to Jesus He made you a minister in a capacity, so that the church will multiply through you. Ministry is no more than adding value.

“And He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her, and immediately she arose and MINISTERED unto them” Luke4v39

This was Peter’s mother-in-law down with fever. Jesus visited and used the opportunity to lay hands on her. She became whole and the next thing was to prepare a meal for Jesus and His companions, and the scripture called it a ministration. This can help you make sense of how the concept of ministry goes beyond the fivefold ministers.

The problem here is because you don’t belong to the fivefold ministry, you assume you don’t have a ministry and have liberty to do some things that naturally you should not have done as a SON. You see what you do as a normal activity, as it is not a prayer or bible study session, but I can assure you those people that surround you can see into your light ad receive Him if you would glow. He wants you to first be a minister and not a business man- seek ye first the kingdom of God.

When you don’t understand what you do as a ministry, you won’t maximize the potentiality of God in you. Your first assignment as a Christian is to be a light so that in your ministry (sphere of influence) this light will show forth. Taking a look at the ministry of administration (politics), it’s outside the fivefold ministry. Many who are supposed to be Christians are failing because they never know it is a ministry so they do as others do. When you know it’s a ministry, you know you need the Holy Ghost to execute it. They end up mingling with unbelievers who make policies that are unfavourable to the people. You then see people in church casting out demons that never existed. If those who passed the law permitting same sex marriage saw their job as a ministry first, such a bill will not survive the first reading.

Joseph was in charge of the economy of Egypt. They saw he had value he could add to the country, he was put in a position of honour. He was put in charge not to come and preach or lead prayer sessions, God placed him there to deliver the clan of Israel from extinction as a result of the famine. The economic recession came, all he had to do is connect with the God of Heaven who placed him there in the first place. Policies that are anointed came forth and there was survival in the land.

As a son of light, what should distinguish you from others is that they do business, you do ministry. They seek profit, you seek proceeds, inside of proceed there is profit. The world cannot know peace until those who belong to this ministry outside the fivefold rise to the occasion. They are even more important because they in constant contact with the world that needs the light. When a trader sees herself first as a minster, she would not adjust the measurement to get more gain, because there is something powerful than the profit she sees- Proceeds.
