P&P

In a geographical location was two communities who were not always in agreement. Each community had its leaders, culture, tradition and belief systems. One of the community had enough man-power, filled with potentials but had a leader who wasn’t so powerful. However, everyone knows this community has a God who seems to truly be the almighty God. Anyone who tried to attack this community always had this God to battle with, they had a history of outstanding victory. The only time any community could have victory over them is when this God allows for such.

 

And here comes such a time. The second community that had a very tough leader overthrew this community that has so long history of victory. They made away with all the community had and it was just like the supposed Almighty “God” had gone on vacation. The leader of this community that took possession of the other was so glad, immediately he took advantage of the man-power this overthrown community had. He instructed that the ones looking good and sensible be thought in their own ways.

 

At this state of changing the belief system of the people, their God did nothing and remember everyone acknowledged they seem to serve the Almighty God. The exercise started and they were being taught the ways of the new community who served smaller gods. They were not tortured because they were prepared for the king’s use. It was a time of pleasure and immediately they had no heart again for their God. Pleasure took the thought, teachings, love and dedication they proclaimed about their God.

 

However, there were these four guys who were strong willed about their God and sought to register His presence even in this strange land. They decided to let go of the pleasure in consecration for the God who is mighty. They refused the king’s diet. It was a symbol of identifying with their “King”- The God.

 

The test of these other citizens of the overthrown community was done but that of the four guys wasn’t. The others had already bowed to the first P-Pleasure. It was obvious pleasure wouldn’t make these ones bow, then came the second P-Pressure. The decree was that whosoever does not bow to the handmade god of the king will be thrown into the fiery furnace. You can be sure those who already bowed to pleasure don’t need any cajoling to bow to pressure. All other citizens of that conquered community were already heads bow.

 

Three of the four guys who wouldn’t bow to pleasure were there, they refused to bow even against the king’s threat. When the king saw that they defiled his orders, identifying with a “King” supposedly higher than him, he ordered the pressure be increased in seven folds. These guys wouldn’t give in still. They were thrown into the fiery furnace, only for a fourth man to appear.

 

The two Ps; Pleasure and Pressure plays same role in the life of everyone who is a citizen of that kingdom; to reveal who you really identify with.

 

Are you like they who already forgot him due to pleasure? You have the comfort you desire and He doesn’t really seem to matter anymore. The comfort has taken your time that you have little time for His service. Check it!

 

Friend, is the pressure becoming so hot and it seems you can no longer hold? The fire is not to burn you, it’s to reveal who you identify with. It was until the fire got to the peak Jesus was revealed in them. The fourth guy who wasn’t at this event also had to face his own personal fire that revealed who he identified with. (This happened when he was thrown into the lion’s den.)

 

It just seem as if “is this God really who I feel and hear He is?” you feel you can’t take it anymore. If only you will hold on, the fire won’t burn you, at the end your name will be mentioned in the book of history because He identifies with those who identify with Him.
