THE BUS STOP

The Lord gave me a word two weeks ago without knowing He was preparing me for what is going to shake the existence of mankind in the entire world in a matter of days after that.

There was an outbreak of a virus in China which began to spread all across the globe. All institutions are shutting down and economies of the world shrinking. I may not really have an explanation to why we are facing what we are facing now globally, but, I have received a word on how to face this time and season as believers; this exactly is what I want to share with you this week.

I was on my way to work on a Monday morning. I always take a motorcycle to connect the major bus stop where I do get a bus down to the office. The time I get to this bus stop determines if I’d be late or early to work and I dread so much to be late to work. Shortly after I stood at the entrance to my street, I got a motorcycle, my soul praised the Lord. It came just in time. A woman I usually meet at this same spot was also there so we mounted the motorcycle together.

The rider took a road not usually well traveled so as to beat the traffic and to avoid law enforcement agents who harass them occasionally. The challenge with this route taken is that in any case of an issue with the motorcycle, it would be difficult to get another means of transportation and that would mean running late.  We had moved for about ten minutes when we suddenly heard a very loud noise, and in ten seconds the engine stopped running. The woman we boarded the bike together asked me what the problem was, and on looking down, the chain that aids the motorcycle to run had fallen. “We are stuck madam!” She was so furious about time and having to spend extra on fare to get another means of transportation.

I was unusually calm as ordinarily I’d be glued to the time panting in regret. I raised my eyes and there was this bike-man calling on us asking what the problem was. He told us to come on immediately that he’d help us to where we were going at half the price we had negotiated with the man with the faulty motorcycle. We didn’t spend three minutes waiting and no extra fare from what we had budgeted. The woman who was already lamenting was filled with joy; I could see it written all over her face.

And as I mounted the bike and was leaving that spot… the Lord spoke the scriptures to my heart:
“Your present help in time of trouble”

The Lord began to explain to me further that before the problem arose, He had made provision for my survival because he knew the intent of my heart and that’s how He works in all things. He starts from the end. The trouble came but He proved that His help is always present and never late. That meant so much to me and I began to mutter that part of the scriptures.

As the whole world is thrown into fear, you don’t have to ingest the negative events into your subconscious. Yes! You need to be current to know what is going on and all, however, there is a word that establishes the earth and He resides in you. This is the time to feed your faith and it comes by hearing.

He is our present help in time of trouble. He is here and working out His purpose. Be strong in the faith. This is the word of the Lord for the now and it is ever potent:

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge…
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalms46:1-6&10) KJV

I know there are a whole lot of economic indices being published out there now from the impact of this pandemic and it seem as if you may not be able to get to that bus stop (plans, purpose, vision etc.) to arrive at the time you hope you’d arrive. As far as we are concerned, the word of God supersedes and He gave me this word without having an idea that the chain which the wheels of the earth system runs would be broken off by a virus in its entirety.

This is God’s word to you this season; Rest!
He will get you to the bus stop and you’d arrive early. No delays.

He is our present help.

P.S: Peradventure you have not genuinely given your life to Him. This is the best time to turn your life all over to Jesus by believing in your heart and confessing Him with your mouth as your Lord and Saviour because of this provision He has made for you not for the fear of being consumed. Jesus loves you.
