Its celebration everywhere and it’s all about our Lord Jesus. I can see the joy everywhere as people are celebrating in different ways, all in honor of God. I just want to remind you of something beyond religion but the very essence of why there is an Easter in the first place. I want you to see why there is a celebration and if you are actually qualified to celebrate. Isn’t that funny? Of course I know you may be a Christian and go to church, in fact you may be a worker, and, a very active one. But, how long the slave has lived in the house does not give him a legitimate right over the inheritance of the father. The slave only enjoys the benevolence of the father.
One question I asked myself is "why will the day He was crucified be called Good Friday and not black Friday"? So, I saw that Friday gave birth to something good. It means you don't define your life by events but promises and prophecies. The more I read, I was able to see that Easter is not principally about Jesus’ death!
Friday is one of the most significant day in the four days that led to the Lordship status of Jesus. That was the day the transaction that sealed the profit of Sunday began and the dividend of what we keep receiving today. Friday started it, Sunday concluded it and Monday showcased it.
The reason for celebrating was first because Friday was the day Jesus became who He is not (SIN) so that we will become who we are not (RIGHTEOUSNESS). (2Cor5vs21). Accepting to become this was the greatest show of humility on the part of our Lord Jesus. His death wasn’t just a show of supremacy. He had reconciliation of man to God in mind as that was God’s intention right from when man missed it in the Garden of Eden. He did this by submitting Himself to be crucified but there won’t have been proof of this if Sunday didn’t answer to Friday.
Sunday saw to the perfection of Jesus’ submission. If Jesus didn’t rise to life, you would have remained yet sinners for there won’t be any proof to show that you have now been cleansed.
“And if Christ
be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins” 1Cor15vs17
Monday is celebrated significantly as the day Jesus was seen and the miracle of His resurrection celebrated. Monday is principally a day of showcasing to you how to follow the example of Jesus that you may also have life. Galilee is no longer a physical meeting event, it represents a place of encounter with the Man who you are to die to and then resurrection will take place in you too. Paul had his "Galilee" experience on his way to Damascus. Many people will drink and eat at the supposed "Galilee" today without knowing the celebrants or even that they are also to be a celebrant.
Then Jesus said to them,
“Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.” Matt 28:10
Now, this is the whole essence of what Easter represents. It is not all about Jesus’ death and resurrection. It is also about You becoming RIGHTEOUS. That is what makes the whole scene complete. So, I ask how far with your own part? If you still live a life of sin (not saved), Monday is yet to happen in your life because the scripture is clear.
Jesus didn’t become sin because He sinned, your righteousness likewise is not a product of what you have done. It is by believing in what He did in those three days that you receive a power to work it out in your daily living. (Rom 10vs3).
You are not qualified to celebrate Easter if you left Jesus alone to the experience without you doing your own part. He has completed His part by submitting on Friday and God did His by raising Him on Sunday. Why not accept the righteousness of Christ and let God's work be complete?
So, you see Easter is supposed to be a celebration of three celebrants; God, Jesus and You!
Is your celebration complete? You can make a decision through the help of God to have a change of mind today as we celebrate and let Jesus cleanse you through and through. He gives the power over sin when you come to Him.
