I saw that the ability for us to keep on keeping on in the faith as regards the words and prophecies received is embedded in our understanding of what the word by the Spirit truly means.
You must first understand that a “word” becoming an action is not really by what is said. What makes for a word to have action tied to it is the ABILITY behind the word. When a superior officer in the military gives an order saying the word “stop”, all subordinate officers obey immediately. However, when such comes from a subordinate to a superior in a louder tone, no action follows the same utterance.
So, a word in reality is not in how much of it is said, it is in the ABILITY behind the word. Hence, the words of a superior officer may be numerous; it is that ONE ABILITY it possesses that makes subordinates obeys not in the multitude of words. The words being said are then equal to the ability behind it.
GOD’S WORD IS LIFE
“And God said, let there be light: and there was light…” Gen1:3
You’d see that what we read in Genesis were words like “let there be light” “let there be firmament” etc. These were normal words that can come out of any man. They didn’t look any supernatural. And it wasn’t the same utterance that brought about all of what was created. The expression for light is obviously different from that of the sea, but, it was still God making the declaration.
What I want you to see here is that God’s words can be numerous and diverse but it has one thing tied to it; the life in His words by the person of the Word. The Word brings the words to reality.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made” John1:1-3
The gospel of John makes it clear to us that all of what we saw in Genesis had ABILITY in it. The words being uttered are different but there was the Word making it become action. Let’s assume God was speaking English all through the process of calling different things to existence such as light, firmament, the sea and all; in the spirit, the Word (Jesus) is the one being called to action in all. Hence, God’s words are same as the person of the Word. His words (utterance) can therefore not be separated from the Word (Ability).
Friend, God’s words is in the ability of His son Jesus. What this means is that every word that comes forth from God is not different from the Word (Jesus) as a person. Jesus Christ is the ability for performance of God’s word.
“Timothy and Silvanus and I have been telling you about Jesus Christ the Son of God. He isn’t the one to say yes when he means no. He always does exactly what he says. HE CARRIES OUT AND FULFILLS ALL OF GOD’S PROMISES, NO MATTER HOW MANY OF THEM THERE ARE; and we have told everyone how faithful he is, giving glory to his name. (2Cor 1:19-20) TLB
By His Spirit now resident within you He speaks to you. You have His Spirit in you which give the ability to hear God expressly through the works of Jesus. Any word you receive by the Holy Spirit is from God as they (God and the Spirit) are one. Those words carry the same ability in the person of Jesus. So, how won’t such a word come to life?
Until you come to the place of seeing every utterance that comes to you by God’s Spirit as having the same capacity Jesus has as the Lord over all things, you may be weak in taking authority over those prophecies you have received. Whatever power is available to Jesus is the same power behind fulfillment of every word that comes from God to you. Take a reflection on all of those words you have received, you can call them to life.
When you start seeing words by the Spirit this way, you will begin to live more in the reality of what Christ has done. The confidence of who you are becoming in Christ will meet with so great a faith that even the devil begin to shiver.
Every prophecy/word that comes to you by God’s spirit carries the ability of Christ. Receive hope, they are coming to life.
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away” Matt 24:35
He takes His words that serious because of the person behind it- Jesus.
