David had just followed his host king to war and he was certain on victory as he always had as one who looks on to God for everything (1 Sam 29-30). However, he was sent back by influence of the prince of Philistine who felt David and his men would turn against them as it concerns fighting Israel. On getting back home, David was faced with the worst event of his life. He had been on the run for a larger part of his adult life with Saul trying to take his life, but this time around, the life of his wives, family and that of his men was on the line. They had all been taken captive.
He had just lost everything; a total loss. His men looked at him with disdain, they thought of stoning him. Their families and everything they ever lived for all gone before their very eyes. The next thing to do was to mourn. David began to cry till he lost all of his strength to crying. This was the natural reaction to such an experience.
However, he came to a place of listening to the voice of his spirit having satisfied the voice in his head. The voice of his spirit decided to ask God what was it to be done exactly and that was where the victory started. He heard God tell him he would recover everything back and then the whole tears looked like a waste of time. He chose to believe the voice of his spirit over that in his head; not thinking out how exactly that would work out.
There is a voice in the head of man and a voice in the spirit of man. When everything seem to be lost and all hope gone, the voice in the head begins to see nothing but impossibilities and fear. There is always a voice in your spirit at these times, it is your duty to give volume to it.
The year 2019 may not have been everything you wanted it to deliver, however, mourning over the loss of 2019 will do no good to the pregnancy 2019 is to deliver in goodness and mercy to you come 2020. So, I speak prophetically to you that 2020 is your year of delivery, however, just like David, tears, mourning, sadness and complaints wouldn’t get you the delivery but listening to the voice in your spirit.
The New Year is a year of taking steps on supernatural suggestions that will be giving birth to mighty breakthroughs but the key is listening to the voice in your spirit.
Jesus knew why He came down to the earth. It was a mission to restore mankind to God and also there is a promise of an honour for Him. At the point of entering into this glory, when the season was about to be given birth to, the voice in His head began to struggle with the voice of the spirit already established.
He voiced out to God, “how I wish this cup passes over me”. This was a sign of the victory that is close by, just the same way David cried himself all out but there is already a victory waiting to be delivered. At the instant after that, Jesus gave volume to the voice of His spirit and He immediately connected to what was God’s will for that moment and submitted saying “at thy will”.
That was His transition into glory.
So, this is a very serious time you are entering into and the victory has already been prepared in this year 2019, the year 2020 is for delivery. However, the sooner you give volume to the voice in your spirit over the voice in your head, the better.
Some of the voices speaks thus: “how much am I even earning? “this is not for people like us” which day will I be able to achieve this?” ”when will God do it?” etc. This is same as staying on a spot crying, it’d do you no good. Begin to replace those voices with the promises of God in full confidence. 2019 has been pregnant and 2020 is the year of delivery, attentiveness to the spirit is the fast magic.
