In your boat, not on your situation?

Issues of life is one reality we cannot escape from as long as we are here on earth. I came across this scripture (Luke8v22-26) in course of a church service and it opened up to me in a different way.

There is certainly an assurance that Christ becomes a part of a life that has submitted and confessed Him as Lord and Saviour. But, there are some situations that seems to discredit the presence of this "Almighty".

"One day about that time, as he and his disciples were out in a boat, he suggested that they cross to the other side of the Lake... A fierce storm developed that threatened to swamp them and they were in real danger." Luke8:22-23

Taking a close look at the scripture above, Jesus initiated the journey. It wasn't an idea of any of the disciples but the Son of God Himself. The next thing the scripture recorded is that Jesus laid down for a nap- He slept. That wasn't really a problem. The real thing then happened. There was a great storm that was life-threatening.

You mustn't forget that Jesus was in the boat but was not on the situation. Does this mean if Jesus is asleep, the power, glory and honor He carried as the only begotten Son of God is not effectual?

They finally woke the master, trembling they were going to be destroyed. Unknowing to them, the master was teaching them how to get Him into situation without fret. He calm the situation, but not without mentioning what is needed to call Him into situation eventhough He is in the boat- Faith.

Do you know how many times you have prayed concerning that issue and its not just working out. The next conclusion is listening to the whisper of the devil saying"you are on the wrong track"(Read the article on Don't celebrate the devil through the home page). In fact people conclude that is not the route you should have taken. Problems and challenges is not a pointer to absence of God. Remember, Jesus initiated that journey and the storm threatened the lives of the disciples even while Jesus journeyed with them.

You know you have Jesus, but it seems He is just in your boat (Life) not on your situation. Fortunately you do not have the privilege as the disciples to go see Him physically. He wasn't even expecting that from the disciples was why he chastised them: "oh ye of little faith". What will wake Him into the situation is your faith. Your faith should be strongest when your fear is loudest.

Is He in your boat but seems He is not on your situation? Faith brings Him on.
As you go this week, bring Him on.
Have a blessed week.
Be Innovated.
