“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the way of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in this law doth he meditate day and night.and he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper”Ps1vs1-4
The scripture gives a strong assurance of how blessed the life of a man who chooses to be for the Lord can turn out. When you gave your life to Christ, you become a new creature. At that point, there is a planting that took place. It is a planting in Christ Jesus, who Paul described as the foundation. As such you have become a tree planted in Him, He is your root. But every tree needs water to blossom. It is the amount of water a tree receives that reflects on its fruitfulness. What is the level of your water?
Being planted in Him does not automatically command result, there is more to it. As such He left behind water needed for you to grow in Him as a river. This is why that scripture made use of a tree as an example of a man whose delight is in the law of the Lord.
The tree is a symbol of a man who has been rooted in Christ, but still needs to be by the rivers of water to produce extra-ordinary result. The rivers of water you need is the Holy Ghost. When Jesus was leaving, He comforted the disciples that He won’t leave them without the necessary ingredient to ensure they keep growing. There is something about the Holy Ghost that produces the result beyond just been planted. Plantation in Christ guarantees your place in the Kingdom but exploring the rivers (Holy Ghost) ensures you command result on earth.
Paul made me to understand people who know of Christ may not be ignited in the Holy Ghost when he asked the disciples in Corinth if they had been baptized in the Holy Ghost when they believed (Act 19vs1).The church is no longer producing result because many brethren get watered only ones in a week. The only time they get to practice the spiritual is on Sundays during service. They are trees not located at the river bank, they won’t survive on their own. Imagine a plant located at the river side and the one that is been watered ones a week.
A tree planted by the waters is known for three things. It bears luscious fruit each season without fail, its leaves never wither, and everything about the tree prospers. Do you desire this kind of life? Engage the Holy Ghost!
Don’t let every of your actions just be a product of your trained mind. In your line of business or discipline, practice the Holy Ghost. You are not a Christian for Sundays, you are for your everyday life. As such your delight will be in the law of the Lord (His Will) because His Spirit can’t lead you anywhere other than that.
As you go this week, would you please endeavor to engage the Holy Ghost?
