It's not coming!

There are many things we desire in life at one time or the other but fail to come. It gets more frustrating when you have prayed and fasted and still it seems your prayers have not seen outside the four corners of your room and only to see someone out there who you feel isn’t even doing as much as you are doing thriving in these things you so desire. And you just feel so jaded and yell “It’s not coming”. I discovered in the place of prayers the scripture has answer to this. There are two terms contrasting as regards this.

“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” Phil4vs19.

Immediately I got a grasp of this scripture, it came as knowledge to me that what the Lord will provide for are your Needs not your Wants. They look so close to each other but quite different. From the English dictionary NEED is used to represent what a man requires while WANT is what you desire. What you require is of more importance than what you desire. What you desire is a product of the present phenomenon you can see according to your human inclination but what you require is a product of the end product known from the beginning which comes from the supernatural.

Moses already caught a spiritual understanding of where the Lord was taking Him. He knew his mission was to liberate the Israelite from the bondage of Pharaoh. He wanted to start out on this as early as possible. He launched ahead to kill an Egyptian quarrelling with an Israelite because he wanted to be the Moses saving Israelites from the Egyptians. He was surprised when even the Israelites despised him. He never knew that wasn’t what he needed. His wants needed time to convert to a need. He needed the required competence to become the one who leads the Israelites to the Promised Land. Moses wanted to be the saviour of Israel –which was actually the purpose of God for him- but God desired him to be a refined saviour. Through the means Moses intended to follow, glory will be given to him, but God doesn’t trade that for anything. After he got the required competence, then there was a need for him. He was given an honorary invite.

There is a process. The problem isn’t about God not listening to you or you not been worthy. It is about your wants going through the process of converting into a need. He answers to your needs- the required- not just your desires –wants-.

Friend, I know you want it and it’s a good thing, but your wants is got to mature to a need, then you have a refined result. Don’t be frustrated about this time that it seems that vision you have on the inside is not coming to fruition. You just feel drowned as if God isn’t looking towards you. Just wait, let your wants grow into needs. That is when you will be celebrated. This is why Jesus said you should not worry as your Father in heaven knows your needs and He will readily provide for them (Matt6v32). Worries come as a result of concentrating on your wants and not your needs.

Friend are you saying it’s not coming? As you go this week, maintain your calm, let your wants grow into a need. In that process, He builds you up to make it last.
