The Gifts & The Call

I have heard a portion of the scripture used in different ways which I feel doesn’t so align with its original intent and I thought it’s necessary to look into this. We must move away from an unspecific Christian life where it seems we can’t be sure of what God says about certain issues. As some will say it’s God who knows those who serve Him. Such comments are not biblical. Here goes the scripture:

“For God’s gift and his call are without repentance” Rom 11vs29

This I have heard most of the times to be interpreted to mean a man can derail from the ways of God and still perform in the capacity he did before the derail. Perhaps there was a gift the person manifested in, despite no longer being in God, it is without repentance he still performs excellently. So, it is used to explain the scary situation that you may be so active for God but been long rejected by God.

This assertion seem so true and have been the knowledge existing for over a decade now. Even though it sounds so true, it is not in context. Let’s do a little perusal of the scriptures.

It's not coming!

There are many things we desire in life at one time or the other but fail to come. It gets more frustrating when you have prayed and fasted and still it seems your prayers have not seen outside the four corners of your room and only to see someone out there who you feel isn’t even doing as much as you are doing thriving in these things you so desire. And you just feel so jaded and yell “It’s not coming”. I discovered in the place of prayers the scripture has answer to this. There are two terms contrasting as regards this.

“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” Phil4vs19.

The Problem

I got this bubbled up in my spirit last week. I see people with problems so obvious just from sighting them. So, this happened just in course of the week and it came to me what the problem really is with us many times we go ahead crying for a particular thing or situation. There is actually a problem not the problem!

We cannot shy away from the realities of this world we are. There is a force called culture that has a powerful effect on man and how we respond back to the society. I have come to discover most of the problems we define are culturally motivated. What some culture considers as success is seen by another as meagre occurrence. So, the one from the part that believes such a feat achieved amounts to a whole lot feels there is a problem when he finds himself around those who sees it as nothing. There is actually a problem not the problem!
