The crux of the gospel of Jesus then becomes an important topic so that the faith of men can stand the test of time and not try some other method when trials come since we all serve the same God. Every believer must know what the crux of the gospel of Jesus is!
The character, God, is where the mystery hover around. He is the supreme being who holds all affairs of men and all “religion” seek to get to Him through different forms of worship. In essence, what all “religion” seeks to achieve is knowing God so as to be able to have power over every uncertainty which man’s mind cannot predict. So, the constant thing that cut across all form of spiritual quest is the search for the supreme being, God.
The quest to knowing God became mysterious to man after the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. Man, and every other thing created by God was brought to existence in the Garden of Eden by the Word.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made” John1:1-3
The Word that established man and all things that existed is Jesus as we see that clearly in the book of John. Jesus has always been there. And the Word that came forth to man was that of dominion which was to be discharged within the confines of the Word that created man. The Word came in form of instruction and ability to Adam. However, they went against the Word by embracing the word of Lucifer. So, at that point man acted on the word of Lucifer, the Word (Jesus) became incapacitated in man. The efficacy of God’s presence in them had been compromised.
It was within the confines of God’s Word that man could see, understand and relate with God. As soon as man went out of the Word, there was a distortion to how man perceived God’s character. Before the deviation, man had nothing to worry about in relation to how God could feel about his decisions; all that man saw in God was a loving Father. However, at an instant, all changed to man seeing God as who could reprimand him.
The Word that could help man see that God is love and always abounds to forgive was no longer having expression. Man had given unrepentant Lucifer the opportunity to be the voice he listens to and as such man could only see a God who wouldn’t forgive. By the word of Lucifer, the place of God’s Word was dispelled by man. This had a spiritual consequence that man could not explain.
So, God became a mystery. We began to see a God through the eyes of experiences. He is seen as the one responsible for someone’s death or the sickness of another and at some other time, you wonder why He would approve of the death of a man declared good by everyone. Various religious beliefs have through these circumstances try to understand God and reach a conclusion on who God is. So, God could be good today and presumably “evil” tomorrow.
Seeking to know God through experience make man end up in unresolved insinuations about who God really is. You will begin to mystify God and run into error as no consistency can be traced to all of such. And, God is the Truth; Truth is always constant.
The scripture makes it clear that there is no need for any mystery about God henceforth. The perfect medium for the expression of God’s character is the Word- Jesus. Without the Word, which was where man missed it in the beginning, man can never understand God. this is the import of Jesus to mankind. It is ONLY through Him that man can know or see God.
“God who at various times and in different ways spoke in time past to the fathers by prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the EXPRESS IMAGE OF HIS PERSON… (Heb 1:1-3)
The only person that can bring the perfect understanding of God is Jesus Himself. He brings an undiluted personality of Jesus to man. The prophets had come, however, none gave and showed to man the express image of God. In Jesus, all the mystery about God is unraveled.
Hence, without knowing Jesus, NO man can ever KNOW God. That is the crux of salvation! This is where the gospel of Jesus becomes a necessity to every man and not a matter of morals or living peacefully. Anyone who has not met with Jesus, is yet to know God.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father EXCEPT through Me” John14:6
Hope you understand this?
Have a great week.
